Trains & Rail Vehicles Advent Calendar 2026

Since the nineteenth-century golden age of rail travel, the sight of a wreathed steam engine pulling lit passenger coaches across snowy tracks has been a defining emblem of coming home for the holidays. The Trains & Rail Vehicles Advent Calendar 2026 translates that classic railroad heritage into a 24-day tree-trimming countdown. Enclosed in a midnight-blue book-style rigid paperboard box bordered with antique gold filigree and titled Express — 24 Acrylic Ornaments, the calendar opens day by day from December 1 through Christmas Eve to reveal a complete 24-piece fleet of flat, die-cut printed acrylic train ornaments fitted with metallic gold hanging cords.

Eight Vintage Steam Locomotives with Smokebox Wreaths

Leading the 24-day progression are eight classic 19th-century-style steam locomotives inspired by early American 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 engines. Printed in high-contrast crimson red, Pullman forest green, railway navy blue, burnished brass, and matte soot black, each engine features a flared smokestack, slatted red cowcatcher pilot, side driving rods, and either an evergreen holly wreath with a red bow or a five-pointed gold star mounted on the front smokebox door.

Because the ornaments are die-cut from lightweight flat acrylic rather than heavy cast metal, even the smallest upper pine branches support a full sequence of engines and rolling stock without drooping. The crisp surface print catches warm fairy lights across the tree while remaining shatter-resistant around children and family pets.

Sixteen Passenger Coaches, Freight Cars, and Red Cabooses

Rounding out the railway lineup are sixteen distinct rolling-stock cars that let families assemble an entire holiday consist across the tiers of their tree. Passenger service is represented by snow-roofed coaches in crimson, emerald green, midnight blue with gold scrollwork, ivory-and-blue snowflake trim, and diagonal candy-cane stripes, each detailed with warmly lit arched windows and side wreaths. Specialty freight and service cars add authentic railroading variety: a navy-blue postal mail car stamped with an envelope emblem, a green flatcar stacked with ribbon-tied Christmas presents, a black tender heaped with coal, a red cylindrical tank car with gold snowflakes, and traditional red and green cupola cabooses.

When the holiday season winds down, the flat profile of all 24 acrylic pieces makes them simple to tuck back inside the rigid midnight-blue Express book box for safe year-to-year storage. Families trimming a full Christmas tree with themed hanging countdown sets can also pair this locomotive fleet with the Mini Brick Ornament Calendar 2026.
