Possum Christmas Advent Calendar 2026

Few woodland creatures bring as much lighthearted humor to winter decorating as North America’s nocturnal marsupial, and the Possum Christmas Advent Calendar 2026 gives the Virginia opossum a dedicated seat on the family holiday tree. Packaged inside a winter-blue rigid paperboard book box titled POSSUM CHRISTMAS — 24 DAYS OF JOY, the cover artwork portrays a frosted gray-and-white opossum hanging upside down by its pink prehensile tail from a snow-dusted pine bough between red and gold baubles. Behind the 24 daily compartments wait 24 flat, contour-cut 2D printed acrylic hanging ornaments ready to move straight from the box onto evergreen branches.

Rather than repeating a single static pose, the 24-piece assortment captures the endearing habits and cozy mischief that have made backyard opossums a favorite among wildlife lovers. Several charms highlight the marsupial’s signature prehensile tail and family instincts: an opossum suspended upside down from a wooden branch, a playful acrobat dangling red and green ornaments from its outstretched paws, a mother opossum carrying wide-eyed baby joeys on her back, and a peaceful opossum curled nose-to-tail for a winter nap.

Festive holiday antics fill the remaining compartments across December. Collectors unbox an earnest caroling opossum wrapped in a fringed red scarf singing from an open book, an opossum hopelessly tangled in multicolored fairy string lights, a sweet-toothed forager clinging to a red-and-white striped candy cane, and a cozy opossum holding a lidded takeaway cup of whipped hot cocoa. Additional daily reveals include opossums nibbling a chocolate-chip cookie, rolling a snowball, ringing a brass handbell, peeking through a ribboned holly wreath, tied up in a satin red gift bow, hauling a bundle of cinnamon sticks, reaching for mistletoe, holding a silver snowflake, and riding a red wooden sled.

Because each ornament is die-cut from flat, lightweight acrylic with a smooth clear border and top hanging eyelet, the full 24-piece collection hangs cleanly on both full-size spruce trees and compact tabletop pines without bending delicate branch tips or shattering if bumped by pets. Nature enthusiasts assembling a woodland wildlife holiday gift bundle can also pair this marsupial countdown with the Backyard Birds Christmas Calendar.
