Dumpling Squishy Toy 2026 Christmas Advent Calendar

The seam under the thumb

Press a thumb into the crown of one of these figures and it folds inward, the twisted top-knot flattening under the pad of the finger before the shape lifts back and the knot stands up again. The rise is slow enough to watch. Below the knot runs the second detail: a pinched pleat line down the side, the seam of a bun that was closed by hand, narrow enough to sit under a thumbnail and wide enough to give a small hand something to grip.

Most of the set is built on that same body, a closed dumpling, squat and round-shouldered, carrying a flat printed face of two dot eyes, a curved smile and a pair of blush cheeks. The molded surfaces are matte rather than glossy, so the faces stay legible at arm’s length instead of catching the light and washing out.

Four pieces break the pattern. They are rounded cubes, straight-sided with softened corners, no top-knot and no pleat, molded in purple, ivory, butter yellow and peach and mixed in among the dumplings. Meeting one changes what the hand expects.

Twenty-four figures, one carton

The set holds 24 figures, one for each day of December. Faces and accessories change from piece to piece, and that variety holds even where the base color comes back around: a pink dumpling under a Santa hat, a brown one wearing reindeer antlers, a white one that is a full snowman head with a carrot nose, a green one with holly sprigs tucked into the top-knot, a candy-cane scarf wrapped at the neck. Solid colors run through pink, red, green, lavender, sky blue, butter yellow, tangerine, brown, gray and ivory. Lined up across a table, they read as dumplings from different doughs rather than as a single character repeated in twenty-four colors.

The figures arrive loose with the carton. The front panel prints the count in a green “24 świąteczne niespodzianki!” badge at the upper right and runs “OPEN A NEW DUMPLING EVERY DAY!” along the bottom edge, but there are no punched doors, drawers or numbered compartments in the photographs. The day is counted on the printed panel, and the pieces sit with the box, one lifted out each morning and set down beside the last.

Before December starts, the carton does a second job. A red snowflake-print wrap crosses the top and side panels and frames a cream artwork panel: the DUMPLING wordmark on a green banner, the Polish subtitle “Świąteczny kalendarz niespodzianek” beneath it, a snowy cottage, two decorated fir trees and a stack of red-wrapped gifts along the front, plus three small labeled icons down the left edge marking stress-relief toys, an advent calendar and a surprise a day. Set on a side table under a lit tree, it reads as holiday decor before it reads as packaging.

December, one piece at a time

By mid-month the box is lighter and the row on the table is longer. That is the shape of the thing: a countdown that leaves an object behind each morning, one figure to squeeze while the coffee brews, another parked beside a keyboard, a third riding in a coat pocket. The carton pairs English headline copy with Polish subtitle and badge lines, a detail worth knowing before it arrives, and the figures themselves carry no printed size, weight or material callout anywhere in the photographs.

What arrives is one printed carton and the figures inside it. No size or variant selection appears in the photographs, so the assortment in the box is the assortment you get, and the four cubes belong to it rather than sitting outside as an option. For a December gift the case is plain enough: 24 small pliable pieces, one for each morning of the countdown, and a carton that has already done its decorating by the time the first one comes out.
