American Airlines 100th Anniversary Advent Calendar

On April 15, 1926, a DH-4 biplane operated by Robertson Aircraft Corporation lifted off from Chicago toward St. Louis carrying Contract Air Mail—the foundational flight that grew into the world’s largest commercial carrier. The American Airlines 100th Anniversary Advent Calendar honors that 1926–2026 centennial milestone inside a midnight-blue and gold rigid paperboard collector case, uniting a century of fleet silhouettes, eagle heraldry, and transcontinental route memorabilia across 24 daily unboxings.

Framed by gold snowflakes and warm holiday string lights on the front cover, a twin-engine jetliner wearing the red, white, and blue Flight Symbol tail fin climbs across a globe-backed 100 YEARS (1926 – 2026) medallion above the inscription 100 YEARS OF CONNECTIONS · A BRIGHTER TOMORROW. Beside the outer case sits a four-by-six cabinet of 24 removable midnight-blue drawers, each numbered from 1 to 24 and printed on the drawer face with a preview of the ornament tucked inside.

From the 1936 Douglas DC-3 Flagship to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Aviation historians, flight crews, and frequent flyers can trace the carrier’s engineering evolution across seven dedicated aircraft ornaments cut from clear-bordered acrylic: a vintage bare-metal propliner (#1 Classic Aircraft), a contemporary twinjet (#4 Modern Plane), the quad-engine jet that ushered in the 1959 Astrojet era (#5 Boeing 707), the widebody hump-backed jumbo jet (#6 Boeing 747), C.R. Smith’s twin-propeller 1936 passenger pioneer (#7 Douglas DC-3), the long-haul composite twinjet (#8 Boeing 787), and a holiday jetliner topped with a red ribbon bow (#21 Christmas Plane).

Corporate identity and centennial crests anchor the middle compartments. Unboxings reveal the red-and-blue AA initials crowned by a silver eagle (#2 AA Eagle Logo), the circular red-white-and-blue fuselage badge (#3 Classic Roundel), a gold-toned centennial medallion (#11 100 Years Coin), a winged navy-and-gold 100 YEARS crest (#12 100th Emblem), a die-cut Est. 1926 script plaque (#13), outstretched metallic-gold flight wings (#14 Golden Eagle), an AA crystalline snowflake (#22), and the wreath-framed 100 YEARS 1926–2026 emblem (#24).

Transoceanic Route Maps, Boarding Ephemera, and Tree Suspension

Nine travel and terminal keepsakes complete the 24-day flight log: a circular global flight network (#9 World Route Map), a parchment-toned transcontinental chart (#10 Vintage Route Map), a cream-colored 1930s paper flight coupon (#15 Vintage Ticket), a brown leather-look travel trunk stamped with gold AA initials (#16 Vintage Suitcase), a blue-and-white gate pass (#17 Boarding Pass), a blue departure board listing hub codes JFK, LHR, LAX, and CDG (#18 Airport Sign), a control-tower terminal illustration (#19 Airport Terminal), clinking first-class flutes (#20 Champagne), and a strand of bulb lights (#23 Festive Lights).

Fitted with pre-drilled top eyelets and metallic hanging loops, the lightweight acrylic pieces hang cleanly on pine boughs without bending branch tips and pack neatly back into their numbered drawers in January. Aerospace households pairing commercial flight history with orbital exploration can also combine this centennial cabinet with the Space Mission Advent Calendar.
